Nikko Tosho-gu

This beautiful shrine complex is dedicated to the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate, Tokugawa Ieyasu, whose remains are also entombed here.
Along with five structures considered to be National Treasures of Japan, Nikko Tosho-gu is also home to the famous "Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" wood carving.
Opening hours
From Apr. 1st to Oct. 31th: 8:00 - 17:00
From Nov. 1st to Mar. 31th: 8:00 - 16:00
*Visitors are admitted until 30 minutes before closing time.

Shinkyo

Designated as an important cultural property, this bridge was originally used only by generals and messengers for the Imperial Court.
Nowadays it is open to the public, and for many people, it forms the start of their journey into Nikko's many historical riches.

Kegon Falls

Located at Lake Chuzunji in Nikko National Park, Kegon Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Japan.
It is particuarly beautiful in the autumn, when the tumbling water is framed by vivid, fiery-coloured leaves.

Lake Chuzenji

Lake Chuzenji was formed over 20,000 years ago by lava flows from the nearby Mt.Nantai.
It is a wonderfully scenic lake, and many visitors come during the autumn to admire the magnificent reds, yellows and oranges of the surrounding trees.

EDO WONDERLAND

Set in a pseudo-historical Edo-era village, Edo Wonderland provides a fun mix of entertainment and culture.
Among it's attractions are a number of theatre shows, including the Ryogokuza performances, which provide action-packed accounts of life in the Edo period.

TOBU WORLD SQUARE

Nikko Saru Gundan

Nikko saru Gundan has as it's centrepiece a troupe of monkeys which star in a variety of themed shows.
There is also a race track for ducks, as well as some souvenir stores and restaurants.
