Nikko

One of Japan's most famous sightseeing spots, Nikko is only about 2 hours from the Tokyo or Asakusa stations by train.
It is designated as a World Heritage site and features a number of beautiful historical sites.
These include Nikko Toshogu, where the shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa (1543-1616) is enshrined.
If you take a 40-minute bus ride along the winding Irohazaka slope, you will arrive at the Okunikko area.
Here you will find a wealth of natural attractions, including Lake Chuzenji, Kegon Falls, Ryuzu (Dragon's Head) Falls, Senjogahara Bog, Yudaki Falls and Nikko Yumoto hot springs.
This area is ideal for hiking.

This is just a taste of Nikko's charms.
Also worth consideration is the famous hot spring area (which is a mere 20-minute car ride away), along with the popular theme park Edo Wonderland.
A journey through Nikko - with it's feast of Japanese history, nature and culture - will be an unforgettable memory for you to cherish.
